Worth the Hype Wednesday:
When a product is highly recommended by the likes of @rawbeautykristi, @ssssamanthaa and @jamiepaigebeauty, I take notice! Plus, it doesn't hurt that it's made by a brand that I have loved everything from so far. Today, I tested out the @hourglasscosmetics Illume Sheer Color Trio ($62 for .59 ounces at @sephora).
What it claims:
🔘 This versatile cream-to-satin trio provides everything you need for sheer definition and color
🔘 Create a subtle tan with the neutral bronzer, subtly bronzing and defining the face
🔘 Bring soft and universally flattering color to the cheeks with the sheer rose blush
🔘 The champagne highlighter formula provides a luminous glow without heavy glitter or shimmer
🔘 I applied my foundation and concealer as I do normally, but did not set it as you are advised against applying cream products on top of powder products.
🔘 I began with the bronzer and applied it where I normally contour. I blended it out with the damp beauty sponge that I had already been using.
👍🏻 The shade of the bronzer is absolutely perfect for my skin tone.
👍🏻 It blended out like a dream!
👍🏻 I was able to build it up by dipping my beauty sponge right into the pan and dabbing it onto my cheeks and forehead.
🔘 I applied the blush only using the dampened beauty sponge.
👍🏻 Again, the color is flawless! A perfect pink for my skin tone.
👍🏻 Also again, it blended out like a dream!
🔘 To apply the highlighter, I patted it on with my finger and then blended it out with my beauty sponge.
👍🏻👎🏻 The highlight is nice, but subtle. Today, I didn't set it with another highlighter because I wanted to see how it would perform on its own.
👍🏻 Ten (10) hours into wear, all of the products are still looking as good as they did when I first applied them.
I haven't been so happy with a beauty purchase in a long time! Which is saying a lot because this is a pricey one! However, with how quickly I was able to apply and blend them, how well the shades work on my skin tone and how long they've lasted, I can see myself repurchasing for years to come.
