They always want to sit with me when I stretch after workouts. •
I used to tell them to wait until I take a shower and then I can cuddle and play with them because of course I’m sweaty, sticky, and somewhat out of breath...but I realized that they don’t care whether or not I’m all icky all they want is some time with me. •
There will be many times in your life as a parent where you may be busy or tired, you may feel gross or stinky, you may have a thousand things on your plate and a lot on your mind. And in those moments your kids will want something from you. They may want a hug, to cuddle, to sit with you, want you to read a story, or maybe even help you with something you are doing. •
Instead of making them wait, instead of telling them no, instead of worrying about how you may look or smell or the thousands of things you have to get done...remember that those things may be important and matter greatly to you, but YOU (icky or not) are what’s important and valued greatly by your kids.
Take those moments to sit with them, cuddle with them, teach them something new. Those are the things your kids will remember and those are the moments you end up cherishing the most.💕
