Today we are going to •Break•It•Down•
At Coral Sands Academy we offer
IEP Progress Monitoring
But, what is an IEP?
Well an Individualized Education Plan is a written document developed to meet a child’s unique educational needs.
For example, if a child has learning or attention issues, whether they are brilliant or they take a little longer to understand a concept, they may need specialized education.
So the first step is to get the child evaluated.
Then based on the evaluation an IEP will be written.
A very qualified TEAM will write the IEP. This team is made up of the parents, the child’s general education teachers, a special education teacher, the child themselves and depending on the situation various other qualified individuals.
The contents of an IEP will be •Levels of Education performance
Information on the child’s strengths and needs determined by the evaluation. •Goals
Measurable goals that can be obtained within one year are written down. •Specialized Education and related services
A set of services needed to help the child reach their goals will be listed, those services are unique to every child.
Once the IEP has been written out it MUST be agreed upon by the entire team, therefore everyone can work together to put the plan into motion.
After that you have a clear plan and everyone knows their roles and responsibilities.
