My names Lainie, and I’m a recovering sleepaholic.
Ask my mom, I would cry before school screaming to have 2, YES you heard me 2 more minutes of sleep. Oh and Jeff he can tell you first hand how I also had a side relationship with the snooze button.
But heres a picture of me choosing to get up early ON VACATION (usually my prime sleep time), So how did this change happen?
I realized I was doing it all wrong.
We’re programmed to think that if we’re not doing million things than we’re not doing anything. Sleep is a past time And why the hell would you wake up before you have to?
Don’t get me wrong, a good night sleep is vital. But because of this programming being a morning person can get a bad wrap. Yet what we’re not talking about is how mornings have the potential to change our entire day if we’re slowing down and being conscious about how we spend them.
It’s your time. This is your time to turn in, get creative,to grow, to discover. And surprisingly (more programming) This “me” time positively impacts not just you but everyone around you. HELLO SELFLESS!
Think about it.
If you start the day rushing, what do you think the rest of your day will look like? If you start your day with mindful practices what will the rest of your day look like?
The answer is simple.
When I realized this, I decided that I needed to make changes to create a morning routine that was in alignment with the life I wanted.
Okay, so now you’re in but where do you even start? First Change your limiting beliefs around mornings and Get up with intention. Two, Try waking up 30 minutes earlier, Three choose how to spend this time. Check out the link in my bio for step 1 of my routine, morning mantras. Remember thoughts create your actions/ aka your reality.
