👆🏼Vital exercise for y’all looking for a more FUNCTIONAL way to work your triceps then the traditional BODYBUILDING approach of skullcrushers.-
🤜🏼Don’t get me wrong, if your ultimate goal is to compete or goal is Sarcoplasmic Hypertrophy (looking to be there muscle bigger), hopping on a bench, laying down and pumping out those tri’s is all good. But, if your an athlete, it might not be the best way to go. I mean, beach season is coming to an end...-
⚽️The better approach would be to include an exercise like this one, which incorporates your core as well as strengthening your limbs. We ALWAYS want to make sure or Core is contracted and included in our exercises in the gym.-
💪🏼At the end of the day, we train in the gym to increase our performance on the field, and yeah I know, also look good in the mirror & for the tings 😉, but our main goal is TRANSFER TO SPORT!-
1️⃣Get into a plank position, but, have the hands come together with a 👊🏼 grip shaping a triangle with your arms.
2️⃣Now make sure to drive into the balls of your feet and have your feet Dorsi flexed.
3️⃣Glutes are turned 🔛.
4️⃣Core is contracted, locked in and turned 🔛. No arch in the lower back.
5️⃣Once your PILLAR is stable, breathe in and drive up through the center of your fists, to lift yourself up, EXHALE.
6️⃣Keep your core stable and don’t allow much movement in the core.
7️⃣Slowly lower back down to your elbows.
8️⃣Keep neck neutral by looking down the whole time.-
