Pretty. Darn. Simple.
But on a serious note I get this question all the time so I figure it will benefit a lot of you out there. “What can I do while I rehab. Can I do this? Should I be doing this?..” This goes for more than rehabbing an injury, chronic pain counts too people! If you have back pain every time you squat, you should omit squats in the short term until you figure out WHY and correct it. Your body is a pretty great feedback tool, so listen to it!
In this industry there is a lot of crossover between professions; doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists, trainers, etc and each has their own opinion on what should or should not be done during a rehabilitation process. This little tip will take you a long way in determining what is right for YOU!
It sounds simple but you’d be surprised at how cloudy things get when so many professionals put in their two cents. So at the end of the day, listen to your doctor, listen to your physical therapist, trainer, whoever you are taking advice from. But always ask the question WHY (refer to last post on client education) and listen to the feedback your body is giving you, it can get pretty simple at that point
