What a lovely recommendation from one of my gorgeous customers. What she doesn’t realise is that I get as much from our sessions as she does. Every day is a school day 🎓 Every customer who walks through the door is another opportunity for me to learn more about movement and to explore ranges and capacity with different bodies. And this is ‘learning’ stuff that a text book can’t teach you. There is so much more to being a teacher than just learning from a book. It’s about understanding what’s right for that body that’s there in front of you. It’s understanding a reaction to movement just by feeling a limb as it moves through a natural range. Its about listening to the person as they feedback to you and then adjusting appropriately even if the movement becomes something very different to what it started out as. And understanding capacity of each customer during their sessions, relative to information retention and comfort, is what a good teacher just knows. Good morning 🌞 Looking for a Great Post or Pre workout snack? 🏋️‍♀️
Try these Paleo Banana Nut Muffins
8 Servings!
3 oz walnuts
3 medium bananas 🍌
2 large eggs, whole
1/4 cup almond flour
1 tbsp coconut oil
2 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 tsp coconut sugar

Preheat the oven to 350.
Add all ingredients together and blend until completely smooth.
Spray muffin pan with cooking spray or use muffin liners. Fill each one about 3/4 full.
Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the edges turn golden-brown. Turn off the oven and leave muffins in the oven for 5 more minutes.
Remove muffins from oven and allow them to cool at least 30 minutes before taking them out of the muffin tray.
Yum!

Happy Thursday! Sorry I've been MIA lately. I couldn't make the time to practice in the last few days and I have felt it in my body today. I was tired and felt my muscles stiff and tight.
I wanted to post #sunsalutation A / #suryanamaskar for a while as some people asks me where to start when you want to practice by yourself at home. I always start my practice with 5 sun salutations A. It helps me to warm up my body and prepare for deeper poses. This basic sequence actively engages all parts of the body so when I am pressed for time or very busy, I try to do at least 5 sun salutations A. .

2 more days. I can already feel the tears coming. This might sound stupid to some people.
But, I’ve been doing these programs for 5 years and I have not ONCE finished one from start to finish. FIVE YEARS of starting and stopping. 5 years of giving up.
I 100% attribute by consistency to being a coach. Not only do I have an amazing support system, but I hold myself accountable by showing up for YOU every day. I wouldn’t be much of a leader if I didn’t have a transformation to show you, would I?
Welllll, it’s coming. Look out for it on Sunday. 😄

Exercise has saved my life. not just because of my Lupus, not just because of this slow ass weight loss. But on days where my depression or anxiety are at an all time high/low, I can go to the gym. Burn those calories, release the endorphins, put Fearless Motivation on Spotify and regroup my emotions.
Remind myself that I have been through some really hard days in my life. I shouldn't be alive and yet I am. That no matter what I'm going through mentally, I'm still f*#king here and I have purpose. Not to give up and think it's the worst. I have seen the worse up close. I survived that sh*t.
So get up and tell yourself you got this. You can do anything because you are here another day. Quitting is not the option.

Lets talk about that FROTH 😍☕️

Sometimes when I get home from work I’m dragging.. 😴 and I mean to the point that if I closed my eyes for 10 seconds I’d be asleep. But that’s not really an option with all the things I need/want to do with my day. I wouldn’t say I “need” coffee, but the smell alone gets me bright-eyed and bushy-tailed 🐿🤠

Today I wanted something more filling since I was heading straight out for a long walk with the little guy 🐶 and figured loading up my coffee with some healthy fats would do the trick. And let me tell you.. I got a creamy and healthy cup of joe 🤩

I used my @bodum French press for 1 cup of freshly brewed coffee + 1 tbsp @costco organic coconut oil + 1/4 c. @traderjoes cashews (unsalted and roasted) + cinnamon. I know coconut oil has been put on the back burner lately and criticized for not being “healthy”, but I feel great when I incorporate it into my diet 🏃🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️ Listen to your body. It knows what ya need ☀️🌻💛

TRUTH: the past few weeks, I haven’t been motivated to go to the gym. I’d scroll through classes on my phone and not want to sign up for anything. Doing a home workout (aka not leaving my apartment) sounded ideal but I also didn’t want to get up from my couch. Stress caught up to me & I felt run down- my body was asking for rest.
Instead of pushing myself and going against what my body was trying to tell me, I took rest days- lots of them- & I’m finally starting to feel better and get in back into my groove.
It’s 100% ok to rest when needed, in fact it’s encouraged. Always do you & listen to your body. Xx

Leanne from @bodyshotperformance is always telling me how important movement is to how we feel. Changing environment, going outside and taking some deep breaths, or simply jumping up and down can all change how I feel. Luckily I had @gabriel.ancu booked in for a session this morning. An hour of weights and being in my body rather than my head, really helped lift my mood😁

So next time it’s the end of the world I’m going to remember to take action rather than wallowing 🤓

As long as your PROGRESSING!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽 It's a beautiful day folks.... So. Today I thought I'd check my year on year stats to see how well I'm doing vs 2018 for the same period.... Turns out I'm doing pretty well!!.. 125k up on last year for the same period 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽😁. I feel blessed I'm this far up, its a great feeling despite any injuries, set backs that overall I'm progressing. That's what counts.
