I was in Uganda a few years ago where women were just starting to be ‘allowed’ to work BUT they were also still expected to do everything they did before “yes she can work so long as she gets all of her house work done” ~ in some ways we are still not that far away from those expectations..... .

***side note that I know there are MANY very hands on Dads, it’s more our societal expectations that still place more responsibility or guilt on mum.

Yup - this is the equality that’s 2019, let’s just all take a moment to let that sink in .

Why is it - that if a mother chooses to go back to work before her baby is, let’s say 3 months, she’s considered selfish and probably a bad mother - but the father basically gets praised for taking 2 weeks off work (if that) when the baby is born? 😅 .
.
It’s like this - it usually takes 2 people to make a baby, these 2 people both become parents, which means they should both be seen as equals when it comes to caring for the baby 😉 - Dads are just as good at taking care of their babies as moms ♥️ .

🙌 GAME-CHANGING 🙌

The last two days at Safe Return to Exercise with Jen Dugard have been nothing short of brilliant, mesmerising and best of all life-changing, not only for me as a trainer but for every mum who comes into contact with trainers and professionals like these ones.

I can see how it is and will deeply influence how I approach coaching (and life) - to open conversations bravely and question the status quo. It is up to us to be brave. It is up to us to step out of our comfort zones and help continue a groundswell of change in how we care for mums and families pre & post-birth in general but also in returning to exercise.

That's why I started coaching, so it is something I must continue to reconnect with and I am so grateful for Erin Wait at Unearthed Vitality for guiding me on this path.

• Zero food cravings to report • Sleep doesn't happen • Gas pains are real bad some days ( peppermint tea is my best friend )

As far as exercise goes I get to the gym 3-4 times a week at the moment. Hopefully as the sickness eases I can increase to 5 days 😊

I have to say I still love my shape though. I love these curves, I love these hips. ~
What a difference a day makes! Yesterday I cringed and today I'm feeling myself exactly as I am. Can you see how much of how we feel is dictated by our thoughts if we allow them to take the lead? ~
There is a sweet spot that we can learn to sit in though that allows us to recognise the thoughts and feelings that arise whilst maintaining a stability in their presence that does not allow us to lose ourselves in them. I am blessed to have found this sweet spot and keen to help others find it to.
~
The sweet spot allows us to use our thoughts and feeling to motivate and navigate instead of them using us.
~
It's just a simple change of perspective and it is possible for everyone to find that sweet spot! ~
So I got busy in the gym and now I'm ready for my 1 to 1 with my client this afternoon as part of the Spiritual Growth Programme that I launched this month.

Why you shouldn’t go Vegan for January - Part 2. Following on from yesterday where I talked about why Veganuary is probably not the right diet approach for most of you. Here is another way....
💚Cut the crap! One of the reasons veganism works as weight loss diet is because it forces you to stop eating junk! So, just stop eating junk!
💚Eat more veggies! Again, veganism makes you eat veggies. So, just eat veggies!
💚Consider a whey protein shake. Did you know, whey is a by-product of the cheese industry. So as long as some people are eating cheese, there will be whey. So I consider this an environmentally friendly way to keep my protein levels high…
💚Don’t waste a single morsel! Use everything you buy. Make chicken stocks, bone broths, and so on.
💚Eat local! Buy local. Eat in-season produce! A quick Google will show you a good way to start, but break it up into manageable tasks. I’d pick on one group of items first: like veggies or meats. Find a good supplier and get into the habit first before you try to change everything at once.
