Quick chest and back workout finished off with 20min incline walking at 90% incline...haven’t done incline walking for a while, so it was a bit tough😣...My glutes and calves were burning throughout all those 20min, but it felt sooo good at the end!😁

One thing I have noticed in the gym, that many people when they do the incline walking they hold on to the hand rails...
.
WHY?!🤔
.
If you do that too...Stop!🚫 There is no need for that. When you hold on to the handrails, you body moves unnaturally which may result in muscle strain and discomfort. .
It also makes your workout easier— it shifts the load from your legs to your upper body, reducing the amount of effort required and reducing the amount of calories you burn during your workout.🙄
.
So next time you get on a treadmill to walk: Walk with your head and chest up, abs tight and your shoulders back. Don't walk hunched over or look at your feet; look straight ahead. Relax your arms at your sides and allow them to swing naturally as they do when you are walking on the ground. ENJOY! 👍🏻

So this little one didn’t mind watching me try the new Shaun T #transform20 workout 🏋️‍♀️💦 Transform:20 launches in January so today was a taster of it, transform in 15 🤪
Having my little one means I don’t have much time during the day to workout without him getting bored, so 20 mins a day in my front room is perfect! 💯

Think I may be getting my mojo back. Definately chunkier but finding a happy medium where I can enjoy both training and spending time with my family without stressing about when i can fit my training in or having to eat out of tuppaware. I love the prep life and competing but i needed to remind myself that competing is a hobby that I do for personal goals. I'm not a professional, I don't want to be. So I'm not putting so much pressure on myself! I'm training hard. I'm eating well and if I want a meal out, a takeaway or a bar of chocolate I'm eating it!

4 rounds of the @flexifitpt Mindful Motherhood home workout completed in little man's naptime, 23 minutes of hard work but totally worth it for the endorphins that I'm hoping will follow me around for the rest of the day!

Exercise really is one of the most underutilised antidepressants, and even just some gentle yoga stretches or a short walk can help lift the mood!

It also combats my addiction to biscuits 😂

It's been a long process but massive progress. not only physically but mentally. I'm ache and tired but that's when I know I have worked hard and it's all worth it. Giving up is not an option when I have come so far. My cardio levels are high and my staminer in my classes is strong. Staying on a constant high throughout teaching my session are no longer a struggle👌 I'm already buzzing to smash next year and progress even more.🏃‍♀️👌🏋️‍♀️🤸‍♀️🍑

Real mum talk 👩‍👦

It's not always as simple as saying I'll just pop to the gym, or I'll work out for 60 minutes, or I'll do my workout at 9am......yeah life doesn't work like that, especially as a mum.....can you relate mama? 🙋

I exercise. I workout. I love to move my body. I do it every single day. Walking. Lifting weights. Ballet. Climbing. Every day I do something. I love it and it makes me feel amazing. On Tuesdays I workout at home in the morning lifting weights in my garage gym with my daughter in tow. Well, that's the usual plan. But, since visiting family at the weekend, Sophia has picked up a nasty cough from her cousin and she woke up this morning feeling like poop 🤦‍♀️ she needed to stay in bed longer.....when she had fallen asleep again and I had done some biz work, I grabbed the weights from the garage and did my workout in the lounge 💪💪💪 Easy. A quick change of the usual plan. Sophia got more sleep. Mummy got a kid-free workout 👌(I just needed to remember to take my slippers off haha!!)

You can make time to exercise. It all comes down to being flexible and DECIDING to put your needs as a priority too! ❤️

How do you rate the quality of a workout? -
By how sore you are the next day? By how sweaty you are? Or how fucked you feel for the rest of the day? -
There are literally so many different ways of training, and no one way, is superior than the other because we all have different goals. -
However, there is a best way to approach your workouts that will keep you exercising long term. -
Which is ultimately the goal to sustain good health and longevity. -
So instead of the go hard or go home mentality, take the moderate approach so your not going home, and staying there for the next few days trying to recover.✌🏼

Pick your training wisely. They don't need to be complex exercises. They just need to be acute (short term) stressors from which you can recover.

Here we have two amazing mums doing simple lunges with added weight on the opposite side to challenge their stability. Remember the exercises don't need to be fancy and explosive all the time! You need to know why you are doing it, how to do it and what benefit it is going to give you in the long term.

By no means have I ever been model material and I have never been that obsessed with how I look, you can take me as I am!
But looking back to post pregnancy photos I really did work hard at just being ‘fit' and comfortable with myself.

After having Alex in 2010 I committed to running the London Marathon (bucket list ticked!) when I had never run a mile in my life before! And I still found the time to commit to the gym regularly. It was easier with one!

Two is a little harder! Plus having my second emergency section has certainly done things to my body I did not desire! and i'm pretty sure turning 40 has brought some weird stuff with it too! I definitely complain way more than I used to!.... back ache, , I ! You know how it is?!! I have a long way to go to get back to full fitness this time round, I have just completed a 9 day cleanse which has helped kickstart my journey, but sometimes I think if you have a goal and you can help visualise it without putting huge pressure on yourself, just something to help motivate you a little each day and remind you you CAN get there! Then do it! Just don’t take it too seriously that it stops being fun!

My goals for 2019 are huge! I want to push myself in my business and step out of my comfort zone more than ever before to achieve what I want and i'm prepared to do whatever it takes to get there!

Anything is possible, you just have to work for it! Show up every day!
This pic will also be on my goalboard to remind me that looking after myself is just as important... and I had it before so I can have it again! I WILL find my abs again!! I know you are there! 💪🏻🙌🏻😂 It's all about being confident in yourself and believing you already have it before its yours!

Feels good to be back in the saddle after a zero-training week, I’m waking up the muscles and getting control of my fitness. My weight might be up and down like a frigging yo-yo but I’m smashing my steps, making sure I get my 3 full body workouts in a week and staying on track when I don’t have any events. Know The Difference Between Reality & Instagram ✊🏼

Have you ever bought something you’ve seen on Insta, tried it on, only to realise it doesn’t look anything like you thought? -
Well, the reason might be that you haven’t given yourself enough of a wedgie! 🤔

Seriously though, how people walk around in real life is different to a lot of what we see on here. -
I totally wouldn’t be comfortable wearing shorts all wedgie-like down the street... not to mention the camel toe🤭. -
But that is how a lot of clothing on insta is worn and If you’re not looking with a somewhat sceptical eye. You can be tricked into thinking that’s reality... Which brings us into the comparison trap. -
“I want to live and look like person A and when I do, I will be happy” -
If you’ve said this to yourself, you may need to check yourself, because happiness comes from within. -
Coming to end of 2018, we’re all setting goals for 2019. If you’re pinning pictures of #fitspo, make sure it is only that. And not a mould you are trying to fit.

Today was the first time I have literally moved my body in 2 and a half weeks... It felt horrible 🤦🏽‍♀️. In just a short time away from my studio I felt weak, like jelly, shakey and I felt like I was moving slower than a snail. Life threw me a curve ball over the last couple of weeks and exercise was just totally off the cards. _______________________________________________Now I’m a Leo, I need to be in control. But everything feels far from that at the moment. So I did the only thing I know how to and that’s PILATES. Everything else might be going to crap but in this space I am in control.... I control the depth and speed of my breath. I control every cell in my muscles with precise control and laser focus. I control my thoughts just for that short time in that exercise... ______________________________________________So if you are having a rough time with your workout today too tell yourself “ Tomorrow I will feel stronger “, instead of today I feel weak ... 🙌. You got this 👊. ______________________________________________
