A few months ago I decided I wanted to be someone that gets up early, mostly because there are a lot of successful people who swear by it. I tried for a long time to get in to a rhythm but it never worked - the reason being, I didn’t have my own motivation.
Since I started interning in Korea this changed. Although I really enjoyed what I was doing, having to wake up to be somewhere and work for someone else is a bit of a drainer right? I figured that if I started getting up early, I’d have a few hours to work on my own hobbies, before working on someone elses.
Now, I wake up at 6am almost every day, and I feel like I have so much more time for myself. I’m always early for work, and my life feels so much more streamlined. In future I want to push it to 5am but I’m just trying to keep it consistent. I challenge you to give it a shot and see how it goes!
Want a few tips?
- Put your alarm inside a backpack near you. Having to use your brain to operate a zip really works wonders
- Have a water bottle next to your bed. After drinking 0.5-1L of water I’m ready to go!
- Wake up at the same time every single day. Your body clock will remember it! These days I usually wake up before my alarm actually.
- Find your own reason to wake up. Me? I get time to edit photos and videos, and in the afternoon I can just relax!
