Want to hear a good story? I went to a wonderful funeral last weekend, the deceased was the wife of a missionary doctor. Janet lived 85 meaningful years, raised her children in the Peruvian jungle, and was known for her hospitality. When she was a young mom, she was working as a nurse while her husband finished medical school. She had been studying child development and realized that her children needed her at home. But how would the bills be paid? They decided to live by faith. And when the food ran out one day, Janet wrote a detailed grocery list and asked God to provide. At the last minute she added "chocolate malt" to her list. It seemed extravagant but she really craved a malt.
And very soon, a woman who she did not know showed up at her door, carrying bags of groceries. She said, God told me to buy these for you.
Everything on Janet's list was in those bags.
Except for the malt.
But as she turned to leave, the woman asked, "Want to go out for a malt?" .
Just a little reminder to me and to you. He sees us. He knows what we need. Ask Him and watch Him answer.
Oh how He loves us.
