So most of the time that I do sculpture work, I go out there with no plan and just let the location and materials I find guide my hand. Occasionally though, a whole concept will pop into my head at once. This one has been on my mind for a couple weeks and finally got around to it. It’s called causality and the design is meant to sort of cast confusion on the concept, with each section flowing out of the other until it loops back around, with no real beginning or end but a clear relationship between each segment. It’s sort of 3 cones of twigs that flow into one another forming a circle. I guess it comes from a place where things aren’t always clear why things happen, what the motives and explanations are for circumstances. I wish it photographed better, definitely turned out how I wanted it to but looks better in person. I added the stones around it to try to get better contrast against the creek rock, but I guess the unclear contrast against the background fits the concept of the piece too lol.
Cabeças de animais esculpidas pela natureza em pedaços de madeira morta. Eu ando no mato atenta aos presentes que a Dríade me mostra. São pequenos tesouros que enfeitam minha vida. Eu amo estar aqui 🧚🏻♂️
