"Everywhere you turn is an element of sharing & sending love.” Ayahuasca is an intelligent plant medicine weaving its way into our lives. The medicine experience can show us the beauty and the awful it's ever-changing. Yet one facet remains constant and this uninterrupted flow is connection. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Many experiences are birthed from the medicine experience, such as a memory of kinship to nature, or a deeper love and understanding for people in our lives. These aspects are certainly an important part of the medicine experience. Yet for us there is one union ayahuasca helps to create that is quite breathtaking and seemingly effortless. This connection the medicine establishes is like a dream, and at the same time, it is grounded. The masterpiece to which I am describing is the medicines ability to bring people together as complete strangers and leave with them as family, a soul tribe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We have always been astonished by this, how a one-week retreat has the capacity for us to finally feel as if we can be open. We remove the weight pulling us down and we choose to safely be ourselves. Here in the jungle, amongst nature, with the medicine, and watched over by Shipibo healers, we can take our masks off. In this shedding were allowing someone to see us and say, "wow, you're quite beautiful under that mask, can we be lifelong friends, can we be family? " and you get to take a long look in the mirror and see, that absolutely, you are divine! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At the end of those seven days, we can choose to pick up our masks, place them back on, and brave the world. Sometimes this might be necessary, but it is of no consequence, because one truth will always remain. Someone saw you without that mask, and they loved you anyway. You saw yourself without a mask and although challenging, and if even for a moment, you loved yourself too.
We are all healing, together. 🙏💚🌿
