Cada país tiene su clásico mercado. Todos son diferentes, pero tan similares... "same same but different" como decímos por acá (😂)
Enjoy 🌻

#November blues 💙 ....
“...and the day I don’t wake up,
And transcend the holy make-up
I am capable, I am powerful
I am on my way to a different place...
I am a miracle, made up of particles
And in this existence
I’ll stay persistent
And I’ll make a difference
And I will have lived it...” Background music 🎶 by @nahkobear for my dawn’s flights in the #Himalayas 🙏🏾🌌 #Gratitude #home #everest #helicopter #officeview #Nepaliloveyou

Ama Dablam, Nepal.

Glaciers, snow, and mountains would forever change under irreversible impacts from Climate Change. According to a recent study by scientists from the University of Neuchatel, snow seasons in the Swiss Alps end five weeks sooner than they did in the 1970's and maximum annual snow depth has decreased (on average) by 25%. Another astonishing fact of the day? "Glaciers hold 68.7% of all the earth’s fresh water, and if they all melted, sea levels would rise a massive 216 feet." Imagine. that. That would mean that the entire east coast would disappear underwater along with Buenos Aires, London, Venice, Hong Kong, and Shanghai... (Adventure Journal and @natgeo) Precipitation patterns will continue to last longer, become less predictable, and more extreme. In some places, drought. In others, flood. The alpine ecosystems we know and love have nowhere to go to flourish and little time to adapt as average temperatures continue to rise. Sub-alpine ecosystems and wildlife will continue to move up in altitude as its range and ability to thrive decreases at lower elevations. What do you want to tell your kids someday? That it all seemed like a #hoax? Call your senators, the @epagov and @realdonaldtrump and remind them that the majority of Americans want to stay in the #parisagreement It’s shameful that we are the only country in the world to not commit. If only our leadership right now were actually representative of our people. Need I say more?

Sometimes things seem insane because they are actually insane. But just like coming back to Kathmandu after you've been in the mountains for three weeks, they'll always make more sense the second time you're there.

Annapurna Basecamp. I trekked this in 2004, I think I blocked out how hard it was. This time I carried a full pack plus some of kids stuff. The suffering was worth it in the end. #annapurna #annapurnabasecamp #holyshit #thepainisreal and #worthit #strongwomen #Nepal #2017#nepaliloveyou

This boy sprained his ankle at the climbing gym in Kathmandu about 6 days before we started trekking. It was so bad that the Physical therapist made us go for and X-ray . The doctor put a cast on it ... and I first I was so shocked I let him do it. After we all calmed down , That evening we went back to another hospital and I had it cut off. At first Beck could not put any weight on it and we thought we’d have to cancel the trek. Determined to help heal his ankle fast , I began to to massage him 3 to 4 Times a day and had him do some movements in a few days he could put weight on his foot. After 6 days we decided to try the trek and if it was too much, we’d turn around. This is Beck at Annapurna Basecamp. A testament that massage, movement and determination are a success. This was a really freaking hard trek that only people who have done it, know the suffering.

Revisiting Cholatse 5/5. Working our way back down though the icefall.
My resp infection had gotten a lot worse after our bivi up high, I was now coughing up lots of “Khumbu Lung Butter”. I was feeling quite wasted. It took all day just to retreat to Camp 1, then the whole next day to get back to basecamp - a trip that should have taken a matter of hours. Sunny ended up carrying much of the weight just to keep us moving, while I did my best to keep up.
There are so many variables that have to line up just right in this style of climbing. Even thought we didn’t summit, we came very close. But more importantly, we made good decisions about turning around when we did and worked together as a team when things started not going to plan. In the end, teamwork and decision making really are the challenges and exactly why we push ourselves to attempt these big mountains.
