Conservatives who rightly criticised Obama’s behaviour for telling the British we shouldn’t vote Brexit and supported Cameron are now critiquing Trump not for supporting Teresa may. No it’s the same problem, the president isn’t a Republican or Democrat when he’s abroad he’s the representative of the US. Whomever is prime minister of the U.K. the president needs to have good relations with them. He also needs to respect the internal decision making process of the British people. The criticism here should be the same. “It’s an internal matter stay out of it, Britain and the US have long standing ties that supersede partisan politics or even normal discourse of politics. You over stepped, don’t do it again”. This isn’t some rinky dink shit hole, it’s; one of the oldest countries in the world, one of the longest standing democracies, one of the most powerful militaries in the world, one of the most free and prosperous peoples the world has ever seen, one of the most powerful economies, culturally and politically influential the world over and most importantly the closest military alliance the US has. It’s bad politics sticking your nose in like this. And it’s shitty and inconsistent when conservatives use different standards when judging Trump and Obama like this. Booo
