I know a lot of people love winter but here’s why I’m not much of a fan: this is about as much color as we’re going to see outdoors for the next 4 months. (And then there’s the fact that I hate being cold.) At least there will be colorful Christmas decorations everywhere for the next month or so. 😊

At 1,610 feet, South Beacon is the tallest peak in all of the New York/New Jersey Highlands. It barely edges out its neighbors: North Beacon to the left, Scofield Ridge to the right. Breakneck Ridge is up front, enjoying the shade.
When I took this, I was not yet ready for summer to be over. With the season’s first real snow in the forecast for tomorrow, I’m missing the recently-departed beautiful autumn. I guess I need to just suck it up and enjoy every season as it unfolds. 😊
