Community service programme (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) was a life-changing experience for me. At first I was about to cancel my attendance. Yet I'm glad I didn't do that.
For a girl who used to living in Java, adapting was a bit difficult for me. From communication to meals to consume, nothing fit me profoundly. Foods were insanely spicy, and language barriers somewhat maddened me.
Besides that, there were some stupid little things which made my very first days rougher: from dealing with constipation, extreme hot weather, poor quality of sanitation, different characters of people, and any cultural barriers that are too many to mention.
In spite of the harsh experience I had been through, KKN provided me intriguing, marvelous, and extraordinary moments, some of them even took a great part in embarking the new self of mine (the wiser, the braver, the better one).
Ah, I can't be thankful enough.
