Not even mad about it being Monday..because I finally get to see @aschecody tomorrow!!
This is the first baseball season we haven’t lived together since being married, and wow. It’s been tough.
Last off season Cody became a free agent and signed with the Royals. We moved to AZ for ST, then the day before his first game of the season he was traded to the Yankees triple-a team in Scranton. I had just made the move from AZ back to the Midwest and had scheduled meetings at home the next 3 weeks, so I decided to wait a month to move up there with him. Four days after I made the 18-hr drive up, he was signed by the Mets. He currently plays for their triple-a team which is in Las Vegas (you’d think the team would be so close right?! Nope, alllll the way on the other side of the country) so back in the car I went for another 18 hours back!
What this season has shown me more than anything, is just how supportive my husband really is. I tell him my career goals and dreams, and within a few minutes he’s already coming up with steps I could take to accomplish them.
To anyone struggling with long distance whether from a significant other, family, or friend - hang in there. And I’m here for you if you’re looking for some encouragement! “Distance is not for the fearful. It’s for those who are willing to spend a lot of time alone in exchange for a little time with the one they love most. It’s for those knowing a good thing when they see it, even if they don’t see it nearly enough.” #nonfoodpost #fangirling
