The move to Galveston was super stressful so the White Coat Ceremony came up on me quick... But it's here! Here begins the next chapter. Are you ready for the sequel? All hail @brendonurie and @panicatthedisco for creating my new theme song @zackcloudhall we are that much closer to Panic! in the OR. It might take 10 years but it's gonna happen.
Fun stuff (and trying to get senpais to notice me) aside, I am so ready to immerse myself in the study of medicine. And I am SO lucky to be here. For anyone struggling and not seeing results, do not under any circumstances give up. Stay determined. Don't lose your grit. I keep realizing where I'm at and getting a little emotional because the road here was filled with so much difficulty and self-doubt. But hey, I made it! And you will too. It's so hard to pin down the one thing you want to do in this HUGE, GREAT, and MULTI-FACETED world. You owe it to yourself to not give up until you can touch it.
Cheers to learning more; seeing and doing more; helping people in a new capacity; making my friends, family, peers, institution, and MYSELF proud as heck.
P.S. I took off my heels to push a dead car and lended my battery and jumper cables to help someone right after the ceremony. I'm sure that was an amusing sight to see You don't have to be in med school to help people! Mini PSA about dead car batteries: YES they need help! Always stop! Fight observer bias!
