Do you eat your sea veggies?
Packing an enormous nutrient punch, sea vegetables are quite often overlooked. High in mineral content found in oceans, sea veggies offer a unique nutritional profile and provide powerful health benefits. They are an excellent source of calcium, sodium, folic acid and magnesium. They also contain lignans, which are cancer-protective and can reduce inflammation in the body.
Common sea veggies include arame, dulse, kombu, kelp, hijiki, nori, and wakame. There are many varieties, but these will be easiest to find in your local grocery store, in the dried vegetable section.
