35mm film: Looking out at sunrise, in at sunset, re-releasing an injured bird, household objects, shooting hoops at our old school... Developing this film was also good for appreciating aspects of daily life and not just ‘adventure highlights’. I have a ten-year-old DSLR I found in my mum’s garage, that’s not at all precious, so the camera usually lives in my car, sits on the beach while I go surfing, or is on my back hiking and climbing. It’s easy to capture the highlights. But my X-700 is sentimental, so I don’t take it anywhere rugged. So far I’ve just photographed stuff at home, or pottering around the neighbourhood.
