Yesterday afternoon I received a call from a gentleman in Howell who needed three documents notarized for a sale of property in AZ. He was planning on going to the bank with his wife to have it done, however, one of his children had gotten hurt and was really not in a condition to drive into town (the child was going to be fine, but needed rest). I did NOT want to go do the signing. This was a solid 45/50 minute drive one way, just for GNW. (Way out of my area for GNW.) And anyone who is a notary knows that feeling; you just DON’T WANT TO. However, many individuals are probably like me, and just know that you need to help. Sooooo, I agreed. I quoted a fee that was not outrageous (much lower then I would normally, but they were in a bind and I could not justify “sticking it to them because I could do something they needed”). Besides, I’m a mom and a grandmother and it’s Christmas. Consider it volunteer work.
So, on my way there, I see these just two running across the road. Stopping and looking into the field on the right, I counted about 16 more. Looking to the left, another 4. I will admit, no matter how many times I see deer in the wild (and I do a lot), I don’t think I will ever tire of their beauty.
The signing went off beautifully, they were so happy knowing they could finalize this deal, and their son was looking like he was feeling better by the time I got there. I want to note one other thing....the fee I quoted them was paid almost doubled, which I did not realize until today when I went to the bank to deposit some funds. I guess good deeds do not go unnoticed, and I greatly appreciate their kindness 😀
