So, you wanna be great?
Like, really, really great?
Then stop trying to “find balance”, babe. .
Balance does not equal greatness. It just doesn’t. .
Sure, balance is what many, many people want (or think they want) and strive for. But if you, my dear, don’t want to be like “many, many people”, then you’re gonna have to throw balance out the window and start being obsessed with your goals.
There are lots of times that I work instead of playing with my kids... or flip it... there are also lots of times that I excessively kiss and hold my kids and tell them how amazing they are instead of work.
There are times that I (gasp!) get backed up by 5 episodes on my beloved Real Housewives, because it just can’t be the priority all the time when I’m trying to do GREAT things.
Maybe more balance comes later. But for now, while we’re building toward our BIG goals, it just isn’t a thing.
Now, if you TRULY want balance, and absolutely do not want to obsessively work toward your business goals, then it’s all good. You do you.
But if you’re like me, and you can feel that desire deep down in the bottom of your gut for an AMAZING life, start getting lopsided and GO FOR IT. .
Look, I’m not saying to neglect your freakin’ kids so you can work 24/7. Of course I’m not. But what I AM saying is that there WILL be trade-offs. There WILL be sacrifices. There WILL be less leisure time. .
But, also... There WILL be greatness.
