There is no sign, no indication leading to @sakagurany - you just enter a random office building in midtown, second door on the left down into the basement. But once you made it, you find yourself in a lively Japanese izakaya-style restaurant. Izakaya are small, hidden drinking establishments serving tapas style food to share.
The food is great! ..and if you like sake, you can choose from a list of about 200 different kinds.
Our favorites were:
- Sashimi à la carte is fantastic!
- Maguro (Tuna) Tartar topped with Tobiko Roe steeped in Yuzu
- Kurobuta Karaage - Deep Fried Tender Pork marinated in Curry Powder and Oyster Sauce
- Cold “inaniwa” udon - Cold Udon Noodles topped with Citrus Sudachi, Scallion, Grated Ginger and Poached Egg - a very thin version of udon noodles, delicious
