When most people think about the heart chakra, they think about self love, loving others, rose quarts, I am affirmations... Your heart chakra connects self to the ever expanding universe, in and outside of you. (I will be going over fractals in the future). Over the years my heart chakra feels like it's been on the superman roller coaster ride, an entanglement of fear and excitement. Somewhat predictable, but with a constant strain of not knowing what direction I'm going to be taken.
One constant factor that stands out to me is stress. It is so important to learn about stress management and train your MIND so your physical BODY is capable of dealing with stress. Stress is something none of us can run from, but need to learn how to stand against. Handling stress correctly will strengthen every area of your life. Let's face it, we don't have time to take a hot bubble bath when we're at work stressed out at an angry boss or customer. Many of us, myself included, bottle it up and turn our vices, at the end of the day and that can create a negative cycle and create more stress. This is why I find breath work to be so useful. Yes, you can take three deep breaths to center yourself before blowing up at someone, but that doesn't quite change the longterm chemistry in your body. Incorporating breath work in your everyday routine can change your life. Every person is different so finding out what works best for your lifestyle is important. That could mean incorporating it into your workout routine, going to a 7 day retreat, or squeezing in ten minutes before bed.
If you want fast results and can handle cold showers I would advise you to try the Wim Hof method. It induces a stress response in your brain. When you work through that small stress response, and feel the positive benefits after, you are recreating pathways in your mind.
