When talking to those who are just joining the gym, I am often asked “Where should I start?” Regardless, if your focus is weight gain or weight loss, prioritize the more complex lift/movements earlier in the workout to avoid risk of injury and preserving your strength for when it is need most. A great example of this is squatting before leg extensions or performing bench press before tricep extensions.
