I was literally on the ground, approximately 6 metres away from this adult female. I underexposed this shot by 2 stops, eliminating all existing light to create a dark and gloomy atmosphere, emphasising on the rays of sun reflecting her armoured skin. These animals aren't as what they are portrayed to be in the media. Although notorious in behaviour, they seem to have a very high sense of curiosity, often trying to figure out their surrounding. I believe all animals are similar in nature, always cautious and ready to protect themselves when necessary. Also to be an opportunistic feeder when given a chance. All we have to do is respect the boundaries and give them space. The motive to understand them, gets you closer. Once trust is built, they'll show you what they are made of. Some might disagree with me, but I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. Or maybe I'm just obsessed.
