Taking a reserved, private layout and turning it into a space that encourages collaboration, communication and embraces natural light was the key to fulfilling the brief for the new Perth office for Australia’s national science agency, CSIRO. The new layout also included focus rooms and phone rooms so if privacy was required, it was readily available to all team members. .
The finishes used were heavily influenced by two different CSIRO research divisions and adopted a layered and data staggering design concept. Elements of minerals (strata) and data research (staggered data fields) were incorporated in subtle design elements to show a strong personal theme throughout the office space, whilst at the same time all being part of the greater CSIRO family. #iadesign
