Selfies with Gus checking himself out in his new black Tomato Glasses we picked up today!
After I shared a photo of Gus in the children’s department of our optical shop on Monday, many of you commented on the huge selection of children’s frames. I took a few photos while we were there today for anyone who would like to see (swipe to check them out). We travel over an hour each way to the shop because of their selection and incredible customer service. The store has been independently owned and operated since 1968 and carries a wide selection of children’s eyewear. The entire staff is now thrilled to carry Tomato Glasses thanks to my suggestion, and they’ve sold multiple pairs and placed another store order since receiving the first shipment last Friday. All three of the opticians I spoke with this week are highly impressed by the brand, particularly because of the accessory kit each pair of frames comes with.
If the stores closest to you don’t carry a decent selection of children’s frames, I think it’s worth it to drive a bit further to find a shop that does OR ask the store to carry more. It helps if you can suggest a particular brand and a convincing reason why. With as many children in glasses as there are today, it really is in their best interest. When/if I ever need prescription glasses of my own, I feel confident I would still drive out of the way to this shop because of their selection and the excellent customer service they’ve provided to us.
Also, I’m pretty sure I’m on a first-name basis with the entire staff at this point. Does that mean we’ve spent too much time shopping for glasses?
Gus will still rock his red Dilli Dalli frames, too, but it’ll be nice to have options and a backup in case a pair goes missing, which has happened a couple of times already.
