The modern primordial diet.
As talked about in my last post, eating a raw diet does not necessarily equal eating a primordial diet.
Because of the many differences between the mass produced animals that we eat today, and the wild animals that our ancestors ate, we can actually end up suffering from nutritional deficiencies, if our pawrents don’t pay close attention to these differences.
Because of humans impact on the ecosystem, there is a chance that the primordial diet no longer exists, which leaves a hole in our diet, even if its raw.
A primordial diet with modern focus is the answer here!
Eat pasture raised, grass fed or organic meat and veggies! Remember, you are what you eat! If you are eating an animal, that has been fed a non species appropriate diet of grains, and is therefore nutrient deficient and high in inflammatory Omega 6, you will also be nutrient deficient and inflammatory!
Pasture raised or grass fed animals are lower in fat and therefore have a much higher vitamin and protein content and a better balance of fats. •
Eat a large variety of different animals! Because every animal contains different nutrients, this is how you will make sure that you get a big variety of amino acids, vitamins and minerals, and deficiencies will be less likely.
Most raw diets do not contain enough organ meat or enough variety in organ meats.
Did you know, there are more organs, apart from liver and kidney!? Next time, ask your human to get you some pancreas, eyes, spleen, brain etc.
Organs are the multivitamins for us and should make up about 15% of our diet.
Some other delicious organs that would be fed as muscle meats are heart, esophagus, tongue, lungs, etc.
Most raw diets also exclude skin, fur, and feathers, but Fur and feathers provide manganese and fiber in the diet and also protects the intestine from sharp bones. Include these in your diet and you will be one big step closer to a modern primordial diet!
☡These are only a few examples on how your parents can manage to feed you a modern primordial diet. •
