Happy Friday! Eyeshadow existence dates all the way back to 12,000 years ago in Ancient Egypt, where they used a famous substance called kohl (comprised of lead, oxidized copper, ochre, ash, malachite, crushed antimony, burnt almonds and chrysocolla ore). Eeeek! Can you imagine rubbing that onto your delicate eyelids everyday?? Thankfully these days there are much greener and healthier alternatives, like this Olga’s Organics Eyeshadow in Adora that's on my current wishlist!
My absolute favorite and most used eyeshadow shades are ivory, creamy, satin-shimmery, one step, all-over-the-lid brightening type colors that aren't too cool or warm toned, but right in the middle. These are the only type of shades I've ever finished a full jar of or hit pan on in my 21 years of applying makeup! Any other shade typically expires before I can finish it. As soon as I saw Adora when I was perusing Olga's Organics site, it was calling my name. There are 9 Eyeshadow shades to choose from, for a complete daytime or nighttime glam look. Pictured is Adora eyeshadow that Olga recommends for brightening the inner corner of the eyes or right underneath the browbone for a beautiful accent.
