In the state of Michigan, I am endorsing Democrat Abdul El-Sayid for Governor. He is a native of Michigan and had an impressive track record as a captain of his high school Football, Lacrosse, and Wrestling teams. He served as the Director of Detroit’s Health Department during the city’s bankruptcy scare during the 2008 Financial Crisis. He is a champion of the people, and has vehemently refused to take any corporate money. Michigan has been plagued with problems under Governor Rick Snyder, the most notable being the Flint Water Crisis. The city of Detroit, and many other working-class communities in Michigan, also struggle with similar problems. As Governor, Abdul will reform Michigan’s broken healthcare system with Medicare-For-All legislation, fight for Campaign finance reform, put an end to mass incarceration, and will stand by labor unions and fight against Right-to-Work legislation. If you live in Michigan, make sure you get out and vote for Abdul on the August 7 primary!
