After a weapon of a storm this garden bed was trashed - previously housed corn, beans, squash, trombinico & Papaya. After a solid effort weeding (I used a fork to loosen the plants and lay them back on top of the soil). I now have a bed planted with papaya, pomegranate, pineapples, purple & orange sweet potatoes, ginger, turmeric, okra & zucchini.
I can’t believe how much easier to was to work with the soil since the last time I planted every season I am adding organic matter back in and I saw lots of worms!! This garden bed was originally doused in roundup and was sandy and lifeless, last seasons corn & trombinico werr absolutely beautiful. I had some fails with gooseberry (pests) and beans (heat) so I’m looking forward to how this next season pans out ✌️
