For JustACard week, here are some of my favourite independents:
🌶️ @chiswickchillies If you like fire in your food, try these delicious sauces made by my lovely neighbours.
🧘♀️ @studio17pilates If I miss my regular fix of Lysta’s challenges, delivered with incredible cheer and attention, I lose the plot a little…
🥣 @ceramica_blue When this shop opened in Notting Hill back in 1987, I was a poor art student, blown away by Lindy Wiffen’s stunning collection of colour. I still am. This place never fails to inspire.
🥗 @angieslittlefoodshop Colourful, nourishing feel-good lunches. Angie also supports our local community and judges the cake competition at our street parties, where she always takes time to talk to all the children about their creations.
🕊️ @clareyoungs Clare is a designer maker who I was lucky enough to meet recently at her fabulous collage workshop where she shared the secrets of her brilliant articulated pieces.
🎨 @eloiserenouf Eloise is an artist, designer and illustrator, who like Clare, is also a collage expert - I met her last year and learnt how to free up my style.
🦉 @sannaannukka A long time favourite. Luckily for me, my husband knows this, and I have been the very lucky recipient of a couple of her beautiful pieces, inspired by the North (mostly Finland, that is).
📔 @2littleboyscom Another local, Sarah produces unique and witty stationery. If you want to change the world, you need her products.
🏺 @lucyfanthorpeceramics Also local, Lucy’s ceramic creations are utterly beautiful works of art, but useful too.
🌈 @jenniemaizels Jennie’s enthusiasm for getting people creative is unbelievably infectious. Check out her @sketchbookclub at www.jenniemaizels.com and buy an online sketchbook club course as an unusual gift for anyone who just might enjoy some creativity in their lives. No skills necessary - Jennie makes it all possible. Not only that, she’s produced several best-selling pop-up books and a range of iron-on patches and stationery. I also have to credit Jennie with inspiring me to do something proper with my art after I first met her in Spain in 2013.
