I'm not a fan of layering fragrances, but for this grey Friday I decided to give it a try, mixing a legendary fragrance -but a bit dated for today standards- with a local produced version of the -fragcomm wise- infamous Molecule 02.
The classic and legendary fragrance is Jean Paul Gaultier Le Mâle, the very well-known mix of lavender, mint, cumin, vanilla, tonka bean and amber.
On the other hand, Molecule 02 is a single-note based scent just composed by ambroxan, the synthetic attempt to replace ambergris.
Ambroxan on its own can be too faint, airy and subtle, but may be great to layer with other sweet fragrances like those based on tonka, amber, rose and so on.
Let's wait for an all day long use, and see how it performs... :)
