No filter. Seriously. Sometimes the light just shines through. I’m all dolled up and really excited about attending the @shepowerglobal gala by the amazing @arleanawaller this evening.
All day long I’ve been thinking about what it means to empower other women, particularly young women. It’s a great responsibility. One I’ve been fully aware of as a young woman who formerly struggled with an eating disorder for many years. All of that anxiety. All of that loneliness. All of that fear. If someone had taken my hand back then, and had said that I was worthy of being loved, it still would have taken a small miracle for me to believe it.
I’m ready to create small miracles. And so is this organization, because it focuses on creating these self-love opportunities for young women. Knowing you matter, that you are beautiful, that the things that make you different are the most lovable, those are the things that change lives.
Standing where I am today, I am grateful for where I stand and humbled by my purpose which is in great part to be the light for young women who don’t see it yet, to show them it’s within themselves. Everything you need is within you, at any age, an especially important message for the young. Time to go celebrate some amazing women who have done admirable and life changing work in this area. #shepowerpinkgala #womenempoweringwomen #womensupportingwomen #womenempowerment #eatingdisorderrecovery #selflove #bethelight #positivity #positivevibes #personalpower #positivethinking #positiveenergy #changeagent #escapingperfectionism
