💥Injury Reduction💥

⁉️ Can we really "PREVENT" injuries from occuring?
-
💥 Although you may have heard of multiple "Injury Prevention Programs" over the years, this claim is unfortunately NOT POSSIBLE. No matter how hard you train to reduce the likelihood of an injury occurring, there will always be some instances where injury is UNAVOIDABLE (e.g. getting hit at full force in the side of the knee from a 300 pound NFL lineman)
-
💥 However, we can REDUCE the risk of an injury occurring by preparing our bodies to tolerate the DEMAND of the sports and activities that we take part in. Obviously this is context specific to the person, the way that he/she is anatomically built, the particular activity/sport, etc. And getting more mobile, strong, stable, and MORE RESILIENT are still and will ALWAYS be great ways to decrease injury probability

🚨 But selling someone on "Prevention" rather than "Reduction" leads to false expectations and disrespects the complexity and randomness that occurs in life and sport. As a physical therapist, it's my job to do my best to keep you from getting injured, but it's also my job to be 100% honest and transparent about my limitations

💯 So let's stop using the term "Injury Prevention" and start using the term "Injury Reduction" instead

For the past 3 weeks I’ve been off of my eating game. I don’t like it. I haven’t been eating enough veggies - some days none at all #truth. I haven’t had enough water. I’ve been eating more cheese (which makes me break out 😞) and things like biscuits, fast food #yuck which make me feel so bloated. This is the reason I ultimately decided to change my eating habits at the beginning of the year: because I was tired of feeling like crap. Tired of feeling bloated. Tired of feeling sluggish. And it’s been hard getting back into my normal routine because L-I-F-E 👧🏻👧🏻🐶 and trying to build a website and create a workout program. I’ve been letting situations control me instead of me controlling them. I am in control of what I eat and there is power in those choices. So I’m going to start today. I know it isn’t Monday, the official day of starting over, but I’m tired of choosing the wrong foods for my body. I’m going to write down everything I eat today and hold myself accountable and get back to feeling light, refreshed, and full of energy. There is nothing worse than working out and not feeling your best because of your food choices.

Czemu tak?
#protip -W celu wzmocnienia chwytu polecam robić wszystkie serie rozgrzewkowe bez pasków. Obecnie robię też 2 serie główne na mniejszym ciężarze bez pasków, bo tak też będę podnosić na zawodach.
-pas pozwala nam lepiej napiąć mięśnie stabilizujące i dobrze wykorzystany zwiększa zarówno siłę i jak i bezpieczeństwo. Obecnie uczę się spinania mięśni brzucha niego. Wzmacniam je również innymi ćwiczeniami. Powinno się to przełożyć na lepsze wyniki w pasie.

A po treningu trochę pocwiczyłem dwubój na 50 i 60 kg

🤔 If you are sometimes annoyed with your client, re-evaluate what exactly makes you react this way. If it’s a reaction that can be shifted on your end, #flipit - often these are minor blips that require a change of perspective and are usually #workoutable 😄

👉🏽 However, if you loathe the idea of heading over to train a current client, it’s time to dig deeper.

1️⃣ Remind yourself why you took this this client on in the first place. Did you sell a package without first assessing how you’d work together (in terms of realistic goals, them actually wanting to attain results, plus considering your personalities). Or were you desperate for income and didn’t care who you worked with (you have bills to pay!) #nojudgment

2️⃣ If you’ve sold a series of sessions you 💯 need to honour the remaining sessions. Each situation and relationship is unique. It’s easy to flake out but it’s more important to stay the course.
. . .
3️⃣ if you’re operating on a pay-per-session basis, and there is no way to work things out, nip it in the bud and clearly communicate that you’ll be spending more hours on ___ going forward, and can no longer work with them. Be kind, make your exit. No need to burn bridges.

☝️We are very visually oriented animals! We trust our eyes more then any of our other senses! When we hear a loud noise middle of the night we want to actually see it before we go back to bed. ☝️When someone makes a promise or claims they have accomplished something we want to “see it to believe it”.

☝️This is the reason why we are often told to write down our goals. The saying goes: if you don’t write down your goals you won’t accomplish them. ☝️There is truth to this because if we are able to clearly or physically see what we are set to accomplish or clearly imagine it then we are indeed more likely to accomplish that goal! 🎯

Whilst essential for long term progress, de-load weeks tend to be boring and uneventful, which is why people struggle to stick to them. I sliced today’s session up by attempting something I haven’t done in a while - the triple clap hand press up. It took me few attempts, and despite the technique being a little ugly, I managed to nail it in the end!

After a rough week - I get to today and she makes me smile - we spend every Monday and Friday together and she travels 30 mins to see me and brings her little man with her too. Great Friday Morning my Lovelies✨💎
I was one of those homies who skipped breakfast because I did not have time for a nice poached egg or sunny side up🍳 in the morning as I would have had to wake up very early in the morning.🤔

Had a great run this morning, slow to get going and warm up the old knees but felt good. May have pushed it a bit too hard as there was a fellow runner in front of me. Of course I had to overtake him and as I did I cheerily shouted 'happy running' to him so he may have thought she's a bit odd but, I'm just so happy to be back out there! Wednesday hit a little milestone!
It marked 5 years of being Self Employed in the Fitness Industry.
Initially this was part time; providing fitness classes outdoors & in a local hall.
In 2014 upon completing my personal training qualification, I then decided to leave my job & go completely self employed full time.
Since then I have changed locations, gyms, upskilled & changed the way I operate to provide the best service possible within the local area.
5 years on my views & methods have changed but look forward to hopefully another 5 years+ in the industry.

Today marks 6 months of me personal training at PureGym Salford. I just want to say thank you to every single person who has supported my journey and watched my business flourish. It has been a great few months and I have found something I will do for the rest of my life. But it hasn't always been easy. Teaching classes was so difficult at first, making sure I stayed organised and staying happy when you've done a 17 hour day is challenging. Sadly personal training is a dog eat dog world and many trainers leave the industry within the first few months. But through hard work and dedication I made it through 😂
