It’s been almost 3 months since I was adopted - allow me to re-introduce myself! I spent 4 months at @wrightwayrescue just after my 7th birthday, until these photos and a Facebook post about my #extra nature went viral. YAS: I stand on my hind legs, am polydactyl, was 25 pounds, and have quite the purrsonality. In addition to submitting an application, my parents sent in a letter of intent, letter of recommendation, and videos of themselves and their home. My mom’s friend @katcampgibson wrote “Gimme That Fat Cat” (yes it’s on iTunes), which mom sang and posted to catch the shelter’s eye. Yeah, she’s a little #extra too. The rest is history, and my parents were selected to adopt me amongst hundreds of applicants from around the world. My story went viral again once I found a home, appearing on @buzzfeed, @thedodo, @teenvogue, @insideedition, @huffpost, @ladbible, @unilad, @windycitylive, @picklerandben, and many, many more. I’ve been living the good life in Chicago with my family ever since! Now that I’m down almost 3 pounds (don’t worry, chonk lovers: I’ll always be big boned 💪🏼), I’ll be around for even longer to make y’all laugh, brighten your days, and remind you that you can only make a difference by being different - it’s what makes you beautiful! 💫 (thanks @wrightwayrescue for the photos).
