Being Pro-Black Doesn't Mean I'm Anti White. It just means that we still have to fight for some basic rights, which had we been white would have been our birthright!

You see I take the knee so all can see I believe in something greater than me, which is
Equality For All Humanity.

I assure you I mean no disrespect to our flag, but I respectfully ask that you take President Trump and his ilk to task, so we can at last leave hatred and bigotry in the past. #dontshoot , #gun, #policeofficer, #swatteam, #kill, #dispatch, #executioners, #murderers, #pullthetrigger, #blacklivesmatter, #wellendowed, #taketheknee, #imwithkap, #kaepernick, #lawenforcement, #gregorygunn, #altonsterling, #terencecrutcher, #trayvonmartin, #philandocastile, #jamarclark, #samueldubose, #freddiegray, #walterscott, #tamirrice, #michaelbrown, #ericgarner, #colinkaepernick

monday mantra: Black lives matter. BLM doesn't mean that all lives don't matter. This idea just creates more separation. This idea created by those who benefit from limited beliefs and fear based perceptions that cause us to feel separate. BLM means BLM period. Since the birth of our nation poc have experienced incredible amounts of systemic oppression. Mass incarceration (1 in 3 black males vs 1 in 17 white males will be incarcerated in their lifetime). While the United States represents about 4.4 percent of the world's population, it houses around 22 percent of the world's prisoners. Not to mention the school to prison pipeline, inequality in the work place, and numerous deaths that have gone unquestioned by most. BLM is asking simply that we recognize how the judicial system has failed. Recognize this oppression for POC. Recognizing our role in this oppression and how our privilege has contributed to it. Recognizing the ways we can shift our perspectives to at least provide POC a seat at the table, a chance to speak. Using our privilege to provide a voice for communities who have been silenced. Being mindful when using that voice in a way that isn't perpetuating further separation. BLM is an opportunity to check yourself and take the necessary steps to create an environment for POC to have simple survival needs, respect, and a chance to be heard. Everyone experiences trauma and suffers in one way or another but BLM recognizes that POC have suffered at our hands and that their suffering is valid.
Ways to help.
Recognize your privilege. Notice how this feels in your body. Shame, guilt, anger, rage, and grief may be present. -educate yourself and others. there is so much we are not aware of with this matter.
- watch 13th on Netflix or ask questions when you can an in appropriate way
-stand up when you witness oppression and use your voice for good
-stop culturally appropriating -be mindful of companies you support (some benefit from the oppression of POC and use their funds to keep them incarcerated)
-be open to new ideas and unlearn limited beliefs •khalief browder• sandra bland•trayvon martin•philando castile•

The protest tonight in front of the St Louis Metropolitan Police Station. We all made t shirts, and then there was a die-in. While I was there, it was peaceful.

It’s been a year & 3 months since Philando Castile was shot and killed —in front of his 4 year old daughter —by a police officer while reaching for his wallet as instructed. A year and 3 months since his girlfriend was left without her partner and his daughter left without a father. This was murder. Unnecessary murder. And the man who shot him was cleared of all charges. How? That officer had no reason to be frightened but he was, without good reason (as we see on the video), that is not someone who should be out on patrol. There must be consequences. This is not a post that is meant to be anti police. I am not. I want to make sure these people who have been murdered aren’t forgotten & that the conversation continues. I want to be a part of the solution of making sure things change. Police need better training & vetting before being accepted into the force. We need to acknowledge that there’s a very clear problem that MUST be addressed. We have to continue the conversation about creating change in our justice system. We should all be angered and shocked by the death count of fatal force shootings by police 10 months into 2017. 782 families/friends/sons/daughters/husbands/wives who’s lives have been effected. This cannot continue to be overlooked and these murders must not be forgotten. #sandrabland #ismaellopez #philandocastile #altonsterling #michaelbrown #trayvonmartin #toomanytoname ...and that’s not ok. ||ENOUGH.
