«For me it has been incredible to live in Rome, all the experiences I’ve had so far made me grow a lot as a person. I’ve met amazing people who have leaved a mark on me, I have traveled a lot, I’ve had the opportunity to know different cultures, I’ve learnt a new language… Soon I will go to Paris as part of a university exchange, and that’s only possible because I am in Europe.
Although everything has been amazing here, it has been very hard for me to be away from my people. My friends and my family are very important to me, and I’ve been able to see my family but not my friends. I would like to go back to Venezuela one day, but not to move back there. I really love my country, but there are so many issues at the moment with the lack of freedom of speech and the brutal repression…I just don’t feel like Venezuela is the place for me. From here I am going to do my best and work hard so our voices can be heard.»
