Happy Monday! ☉
Hopefully, I will be posting a new drawing every week. I've always found drawing regularly to be quite challenging, but I think that is the only way to improve. I completed this drawing of Winston Churchill in, I believe, 2014. It was one of those rare, awesome times in which I could envision the finished product and had the patience to see it through to the end. It took me around 3 days to a week to draw this, and I did use a photograph for reference. I'll post a free draw sometime to show how much a photograph helps me... Here's the thing: I am not a creative person. I am not good at conjuring up a beautiful or meaningful piece of art from my imagination. I have to look at a photo, and then transfer what I see to my paper as accurately as possible, and then if I accomplish that, I am happy with my drawing.
I still don't know why God gave me the gift of drawing. From my perspective, it doesn't fit me. I am not whimsical, or free-spirited, or anything else I always associate with artists. So, I've never really done anything with my drawings, but I feel it's time to start.
Our talents are not for our own enjoyment or criticism, but to be shared with others, and to be used for God's glory. That's what I hope to do.
