#physiqueupdate this week was crazyyyy! I had a major set back with the lockout at work and I wasn’t able to workout for several days but on Tuesday we went back to work and I’m back on track! •


Today was #armday and it was a good one! I was running a little late so I rushed it so I could have time to do my cardio before work but that didn’t stop me from getting a good pump! I finished my workout with the #postworkoutshake from @1stphorm and I promise you won’t find a better tasting protein! Personally, I don’t believe 2x a day workouts to be the most optimal. However, as long as you aren’t overworking muscle groups (I did legs, and will hit back/bis tonight) it won’t be bad! I prefer at least 2 days of recovery, which is more important for muscle building than actual lifting, so as not to strain myself or eff up my body. So, a recovery day will be warranted this weekend 🤙🏻.

I’ve come to the conclusion that my body is rebelling against me after over a week of non-activity and fun foods 🤦🏻‍♀️ My left hamstring is tight AF (and tbh hurts), the rest of my body is sore for some unknown reason and my appetite is legit nonexistent. I feel... broken 😂

It’s being ages since I did a check in🙈
Currently weight training 3 days a week and just started doing upper body rehab work to strengthen weaker muscles🙆‍♀️

When I track I am eating around 2,200 calories which I’m happy with because my training has majorly decreased 😔

💎 Chasing Diamonds continues.
If know me; you know I refer to the sharp glute definition of a fully conditioned bikini competitor as DIAMONDS back derrrr.
I WANT DAT.
I’d like feathering too; but that’s outside the bikini lines - but HEY; one can still dream 😏right?!.

This weigh-in marks the lowest point I was ever able to achieve in a 25 week deficit in 2017. The year that told me something was up internally.
I only lost 9 lbs during that time and it was emotionally and physically draining to be in that place.
____
Now this deficit has NOT been all puppies and rainbows either y’all. No deficit for stage-level leanness will be *NEWSFLASH* this issshhh is HARD AF for 98% of the competitors. WE DIG.
However, the overwhelming increased response my body has had and the biomarkers this go round are truly an emotional breath of fresh air. Progress has been slow, but steady. I’ve lost a total of 13lbs thus far (swipe to see some comparisons from start to now) in 14 weeks. My density is staying around in all the right places and I’m learning how this new shape is going to be best presented on stage.

I finished a little PREP UPDATE vlog yesterday to really dive into the details of my current state. I cover the topics I feel everyone wants to know so STAY TUNED.
Just need to find some quality WIFI to upload. Yup, minimal technology at my Mamas house; I’m lucky to get client programs uploaded via my 3G hotspot 🤦🏽‍♀️. But it’s been nice to check out from scrolling and check in with myself and where I’ve come thus far - AND get hella jacked for what’s still to come as I keep digging for diamonds 💎 💎 ..... I know diamonds are mined for but you get the metaphor 😂😂 #SocksAndHeels.

If there was one thing I could go back and tell myself it would be to believe in myself and my abilities. For so long I believed I was always going to be skinny-fat and shapeless because I was built that way. Then when I was sick last year and I lost even more weight it was a choice to give up completely or to fight and work bloody hard to get the body I always wanted. A strong one I could be proud of. Finally my persistence and hard work is paying off. For the first time in my life I am seeing gains.! Muscles in my arms and shoulders, quads growing and abs coming through 🙌🏻 So excited to continue putting the work in and build even more strength and muscle definition 💪🏼 Never give up on yourself! You are capable of achieving anything if you allow yourself to believe it. Finally I am feeling strong and good about myself and I am my own motivation to keep going. 💕

After my rant yesterday, here’s my physique update:

And I won’t lie and say I didn’t put on more weight than I should have ( at least so quickly). I learned something after my 2nd competition...I need to have my “afters” and I didn’t...
Then! I did it again in July but I was still coming off a lot of negative feelings after #ecup, not because of my placing but other stuff.

Ideally, I’d like to be back at 140 because I’m “comfortable” there but NOTHING about my current physique is wrong. (I’m more thick waisted than I’d love but even at my leanest, that’s my struggle bus)
Some perks of my elevated weight/calories...my running is better than it has been in years, I enjoy more things with family, I’m pushing weight I haven’t in a LONG time, libido is higher, and oh, I don’t fall asleep in car and cry from exhaustion #winning
I stepped out of competing because I was using it to unfuck myself and well, that AIN’T the way. When I started my first prep, I was mentally in a great place and now I’m not. I will step on stage in 2019, if I’m back to a place of being stoked to do it.
Let me be clear, COMPETING did not do this to me...listen to @redefinehealthyradio with @laurinconlin/ @paulrevelia on this topic. I did this to me and I didn’t do anything but make myself uncomfortable; NOBODY ELSE GIVES A FLYING RATS BUTT!
I’m holding more muscle than ever, I know because of body scans.
This month I have taken over my nutrition and tried some really weird things cause #science, I’m constipated because of said #science and random foods and shark week is coming (I know because I want lunch meat covered in chocolate)
The exciting/scary part is that I now have the privilege of working on my confidence at a different stage of my #offseason and the ability to keep working on what works for me.

I’m enjoying working out again and my shoulders/hamstring gains
I’ll be stepping on scale daily (I like the data and I stopped)...it also helps with compliance and I’ll keep you updated more because why the heck not?!? Just remember, the only opinion that matters is yours 😘

Still no gym as I haven't seen the specialist yet😫 i mostly just stay at home!
Currently walking still hurts my hip, and my hip feels so weird/different to the other🙄
Trying not to do anything to cause more harm, as we have no idea the cause of the injury or what it is at this point.

No shows of any sorts this year for me. After we figure out what's up with my hip, its building time at the pace my hip will need to heal correctly🤞🏼
BUT MAN do I miss the rush of prep & competing!

Post Show Weigh In: Wow, almost can't believe this 🙌 Sunday night I weighed in at 186 😲😂, after binging Saturday night and Sunday after the show. Monday, I got on some reasonable #macros 📋 (about 400 calories over my depletion phase show prep calories)

Prep/Physique Update- 👆🏼 Check in taken 16 days out! We are currently #13daysout & grinding! Haven’t documented a ton this prep just solely due to the fact that my life is so crazy & I’ve got my head down, grinding toward my goal! Any extra little time I have is spend with my hubs, instead of on my phone because #priorities & he is what is keeping me sane, happy, and focused! -
For those of you that know my story, bodybuilding is such a passion of mine, but is not the first priority in my life. So, it’s been a long journey, but It finally feels right and I’m just ready to achieve my goal! -
I started competing in 2013, just doing one show per year.
2013- 1st in class & overall (First show)
2014- 4th in class
2015- 1st in class & overall

So, I was obviously qualified Nationally since my first show,but knew I didn’t have the muscle or structure at that point to be competitive on the National stage. Finally, in 2016 I took the plunge and got on that National stage in Chicago!
2016- 8th place Chicago Nationals

At this point I had still never had a coach, but knew if I really wanted to be successful I needed someone with an outside perspective to dial me in! I started 2017 doing my research, and Erik & I decided we thought @paulrevelia would be a good fit!
That takes us to last year, my first time doing more than one show in a year & having a coach!
2017- Regional Level 1st in class, 6th at Chicago Nationals & then ending my season 2nd at Pittsburgh Nationals! (I know most of you probably think I was crazy for ending my season when I was so close)!!!

Well, here we are 1 year later & ready to rock! Yes, I have a full time career with crazy hours and lots of stress & coach clients on the side, but I promise it can be done guys! -

200kg on the rack pull and it was one level too low almost a deadlift 😅 ...not quite

The mental transformation I've experienced through fitness far outweighs any physical changes I've made by a LANDSLIDE. Things we take for granted everyday like our HEALTH can be improved so much by making such small changes in routine... like eating a little bit cleaner or spending an hour working out instead of laying on the couch for 3 hours. If you can conquer the mental setbacks we've all experienced at the start, I promise it will get easier and those thoughts will become far and few between. Once you make your health a priority and stop taking it for granted, it will be something you never want to stop improving. The feeling I get knowing that I am in complete control of my thoughts, my emotions, as well as my physical strength and well being - is something I NEVER thought I would find through health and fitness. As you can seeeee, I wasn't exactly blessed with the plumpest butt cheeks🤣 In fact I used to joke with my husband that I had an inverted ass lol. I've always been quad dominant but with little to no butt. Like I said in a previous post, I used to struggle quite a bit with engaging my glutes, while I was compensating with my quads.
