So today, we are building from yesterdays fabulous Planking Tutorial with great cues & demo from @zaynagold & @nancycastiglioni
We take exactly the same principles but add movement to challenge the all important Pilates Powerhouse with Classical Pilates ‘Leg Pull Front’ Together Zayna & I demonstrate a progressive flow with the following watchpoints to help:
. . . Once in full plank, maintain length through front line with strength through back line
The frame/trunk remain still & fully supported throughout movement
Check pelvis & shoulder girdle remain square when pushing back through heels
When extending & lifting one leg, ensure hip flexors lengthen through front line of pelvis, fully supported by abs, to enable gluts to fire first before hammies
By opening hip flexors, the anterior pelvic tilt & subsequent lumbar shortening is avoided
Only move as far as powerhouse remains connected & spine long via Pilates Opposition
