For all of you who knew my dad, Roger E. Fox M.D., he passed on January 28, 2018 at the age of 94 years. He had an amazing life and had crossed off just about everything on his bucket list including having been married to Betty Fox for 68 years with whom he visited all 7 continents, 47 countries, and all 50 states. He learned Spanish in his 70s, learned to fly, learned to golf, loved to fish and always said that we must never stop learning, loving and believing in the goodness of humanity. He was a doctor in the Navy during the Korean Conflict and was one of the “Chosin Few”. He also had his medical practice in South Oceanside for 40 years.
He said that we all should read books - especially the classics and even books that are not that great as long as they are fun to read. He loved puzzles, cars, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and everything to do with foxes 🦊. He said diversity is not only our strength but may in fact be our salvation. He always had some funny story to tell and had a raucous laugh. He is survived by his wife Betty; a brother and sister; 4 children; 8 grand-children and 9 great-grand-children.
He was a member of Pilgrim UCC church in Carlsbad for 58 years. RIP dad, we miss you dearly. June 1923-Jan. 28, 2018.
His memorial is Sunday 2/11 12:30pm at Pilgrim UCC in Carlsbad. Potluck afterwards - Bring a finger food dish that doesn’t need to stay hot or cold. You can make donations in his name to Pilgrim UNited Church of Christ Carlsbad or UCSD Alzheimer’s Research. .
