Some more photographs from my recent trip, we visited Dalby Forest which was tiring as the walk we chose was mostly uphill but still very lovely 🌲🌲

“The elm lets fall its leaves before the frost, The very oak grows shivering and sere, The trees are barren when the summer's lost: But one tree keeps its goodness all the year. Green pine, unchanging as the days go by, Thou art thyself beneath whatever sky: My shelter from all winds, my own strong pine, 'Tis spring, 'tis summer, still, while thou art mine.“ Augusta Davies Webster

Now is the season for PLUM flowers, which are so beautiful as cherry flowers. Besides, plum is one of three auspicious trees in Japan along with pine and bamboo. Plum is associated with longevity because it blooms under harsh conditions in winter. February is also a good season in Kyushu for flower lovers. #plum#pine#bamboo#auspicious#tree#longevity#winter#february#kumamoto#kagos
. . . . . What to do on day when the streets are covered in leaden ice and the winter's undecided where to go next? Maybe rearrange just a bit among the terracotta pots stacked on the balcony and think about the spring a little. . . . . .
