Shh.... Listen up, because I have something important to say. A #breed is just that, a breed. There should not be stigmas attached to it, there should not be labels associated. Too often do people drop their jaws when I tell them that we have #pitties for our #furbabies. Especially since we have #kids in our house! Did you know that pitbulls actually used to be considered great nanny dogs? That's right? Because they were gentle giants that would protect the kids and BABIES in their families. There is nothing wrong with this breed. They are pitBULLS... But that does not make them bullies. The only bullies, are the humans who decide it's okay to make these loving and loyal animals turn into something they don't want to be. They are forced.
So the next time your family wants to #adopt an animal... before you drop hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a "specialty" breed, consider going to a humane shelter where thousands of pitbulls, and other mislabeled dogs are put every year because people are to scared to see their love.
Both of ours are #rescue dogs, and neither of them were pups. We took a chance, not knowing fully what we might be getting into... But great chances often come with great rewards... And for us it sure did.
