After “Norwegian wood” I easily fell in love with murakami’s work. His flare with words touches you and the best thing is, no matter where you are in life right now, you can always relate to them. Books are so wonderful in their own right. Touching lives and sometimes even changing them.
Currently I am watching “guernsey literary and potato peel pie society” in Netflix, and it’s mostly about how books can do wonders for us. A must watch if you are into British drama and movies. What are your current favourites??
This Acalypha wilkesiana is suffering from a powdery mildew infection. This plant, though a fantastic, easy to grow shrub, is especially prone to this disease.
Growers of the plant will notice that it succumbs to the mildew around this time of year, as the plant goes into winter dormancy. This is common for many plants, as leaves become open to infection by the fungus due to weakening cell-structure.
It's important to know when these kinds of fungal infections should be treated with sprays, or whether simply cutting back the plant and feeding with organic plant-food (both solid and liquid-based) is all that's required.
Acalypha wilkesiana is a great plant for anyone wanting to practice coppicing; the plant can be repeatedly cut back to a central stem, or ground-level base, and the long cany stems can be bundled, left to dry then used as effective small-to-mid size firewood.
Drawing 34/100 of the drawing a day for 100 days challenge. I find myself saying just one more plant lately.
Title: Just One More
juste un de plus
solo un altro
apenas mais um

Love our giving trees .
Alocasia Amazonica (polly).
This guy is growing and growing and growing. So much so that it cracked the pot. It's due for a up size in pot and a new space around the house for it. Its getting so big!
Just a little Saturday cuteness from one of our #melbourneplantclub friends @jakeandfronds
In true Melbourne style, we’re experiencing all seasons in one today. Don’t forget your sunscreen, rain coat, boots and swimmers if you’re heading out plant hunting!
Many thanks to @dividenmultiply for these lovely #succulent#cuttings . They are so plump and healthy .
The first pic has 5 of them and they will #propagate in water. I'm using a #repurposed food cup and rubber bands to hold them upright (3rd pic). I'm going to let them callus a few more days before I add water
Also got #monstera cuttings that are sitting in water. Hopefully they root for me
My 3 yo son said: I want strawberries!
My husband: I did not hear the magic word.
My son: ABRACADABRA!
So with or without magic we have now local Nova Scotian strawberries despite August. We had very late Spring and it seems everything to be delayed. They are very tasty and sweet and although we can buy all year long Californian strawberries these taste different. #shoplocal
#kupujlokalnie
Welcome the newest edition to our family. Believe it or not, this prayer plant was only $2.50. Had to bring it home! Was a little beat up, but with some love and “prayer” it will thrive! .
