Could you take a detour now
To the places detached?
Visit them as a first-timer.
Check out my collection,
From the past three years.
Steinbeck on the shelf, upside down -
Exactly the way you never wanted.
Collectibles from the Comic Con.
Faded tees, off the Avenue streets,
And the lampshade that
Never sat straight.
If I were a big name,
I'd have auctioned those.
But memories were my treasure chest,
You wanted something grander.
A house was on the cards,
If not anytime soon.
I worked my greasy limbs off broken cars,
Trust me to have had saved broken hearts.
Be glad to sell my defunct sedan,
But there ain't no buyers.
Greens, they don't value it for
The collection I adorn it with.
So could you take a detour now?
I'm looking for takers.
