On July 21, 2019, Officer K. Healy, a patrol officer at Precinct 3, and Officer S. Goddard, an officer in the Rangers Unit, responded to a call of a swimmer in distress on the Chattahoochee River. Officer Healy arrived on scene first and noticed three inner tubes floating in the water. He then noticed three females in the water and ran down to the river. A 14-year-old female, who was unable to swim, had fallen off her inner tube. Her two sisters attempted to help her but began struggling in the water. Officer Healy quickly acted and used a rope he had in his car. He threw the rope out to the females and pulled them to safety. Officer Goddard arrived on scene and assisted with pulling the females to shore.
A police officer never knows what call they will respond to during their shift. Thankfully, Officer Healy’s quick thinking and Officer Goddard’s assistance resolved this call quickly and safely. #cobbcounty #firstresponders #lawenforcement #cobbcountypolice #policepatrol #police #policeofficer #lawenforcementofficer #patrol #protectandserve #serveandprotect #policelife
