Procrastination. This word hits me right to the core, as I am of it. Externally it might appear like I have it all together, but inside? I’m fighting a constant battle of wanting to avoid everything in my life, lay in bed for hours, and binge Netflix.
I truly believe there is always a way to work on your struggles. So this morning I dove into some reasons on WHY we procrastinate, especially those important tasks that could lead to better things in our life.
It got me thinking, thought it would be valuable for any of my fellow procrastinators out there too! We are likely doing this because 1. You have a fear that’s holding you back from completing whatever you’re avoiding. Really stop, and think about if that could be true. You might not even be subconsciously aware.
2. You’re lacking clarity about WHY you want to achieve that task—what’s the end result going to look like for you? What is driving you?
3. Lack of structure, if you aren’t blocking out time in your day specifically to achieve your goals, you’ll be leaving it up to randomness in life. Set a timer for WHEN you are going to complete a task!
