Daily Luna update: Here she is last night before again refusing to eat more than a couple of bites. She's looking perkier than she did in my first post about her though!
She's back at the vet today for the same things again - fluids, thyroid meds, potassium, etc. She is apparently nearly IMPOSSIBLE to pill (I don't think I've had to give her any since she was spayed 12 years ago) so the thyroid pills are a real struggle for them to get in her, even with all their experience. They've ordered transdermal meds for me to give her instead of pills, but they won't be in until Friday at the earliest. She also won't take potassium paste or the propectalin for them without foaming at the mouth, so it's not just me!
I asked about tube feeding since she still won't eat more than a lick/bite of anything and she hasn't eaten a full meal since Friday, but the vet said the fact that she's beginning to show interest in food is a good sign. Dr. Jones has been practicing a long time and he's the one who operated on Murray's mouth, so we just have to trust they're monitoring everything that could be affected by her not eating.
Last night, I tried Hills Rx A/D food in addition to all the other foods we've tried, but she wasn't interested in it either. She licked a tiny speck of full-fat yogurt off my finger, and she ate one Greenie dental treat (I tried every other treat we had with no luck). She was most interested in the canned sardines - she licked at them for a few seconds and maybe ate a tiny bite? But we couldn't get her to eat more later even when we warmed them up.
She was more active and mobile earlier in the night, like on the video, but got more subdued as the night went on. She did pee in the litter box twice, and she had diarrhea twice, but she covered it up (she hadn't been covering it before) and she groomed herself just a little bit while I was watching. That's some more improvement! Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts!
